심곡(心谷) 정방자 선생의 치료개입 특성에 대한 질적 사례 연구

- Abstract
- The study has a purpose to verify the distinctions of therapeutic interventions, core therapeutic intervention, and the model of therapeutic interventions of Chung Bangja as a master therapist.
Criterion-based sampling, peer-nomination and snowball sampling were used to select the master therapist. The first analysis data comes from the verbatim records of 77 cases from the 3 clients. Second analysis data is Chung Bangja's works, and many kinds of papers. These all data was analysed based on the qualitative case study approach(Merriam, 1988).
The results of the analysis are summarized 42 units, 11 sub-categories and 4 categories. The core intervention is 'Holding on the clients by letting them have an insight through answering the empathic questions, based on her mature personality'. Analyzing the relations among the categories is revealed Chung Bangja’s therapeutic intervention model, which ntroduces the three stages. The three stages are 'the stage of confirming the origin of difficulties’, ‘being aware of displacement emotion,’ ‘the stage of re-experiencing the stabe relationship’, and ‘the stage of performining the integrated self’. In addition, 'personal characteristics' and 'relational characteristics' were found as important characteristics that continuously affected all stages. The first step, ‘Confirming the origin of difficulties’ was ‘letting the clients realize the resources by refreshing the time when they had strength,’ ‘extracting the emotions that had been lumped out,’ ‘helping the previous experiences unfold in detail in counseling,’ and ‘getting into the history of the inner talker and looking into the in-depth to getting to the core.’ The primary intervention of the therapist at this stage is to identify 'Conforming the origin of difficulties. The second phase is 'realizing the tranceference of emotions and re-experiencing the stable relationship, which includes 'letting the clients know their transference of infant needs’, ‘letting them frustrate their needs at the appropriate level’. ‘gathering the strength to think objectively by forming an observational self’, and ‘encouraging them to integrate their realizations into the real life. At this stage, intervention is made to overcome transition feelings and to establish realistic target relationships. The third step is 'performing the integrated self', which includes emphasing the self treatment to find the integrated self. Counselors focus their interventions on integrating what the clients realize into real life.
The above findings are meaningful in that they analyzed the actual treatment process of Chung Bangja the master of counseling. It also showed that to serve as a good parent with a mature personality, a process of continuous reflection is needed to expand the counselor's self-expansion.
Finally, Based on the results, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed, and the future research directions were suggested.
