Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the psychological skill level of Inter ski on mental and performance. To do this, 150 participants of the 34th National Technology Championships in 2018 participated in the survey. SPSS / PC + Win. 21.0 was used. Frequency analysis was conducted to identify the general characteristics of the subjects. Factor analysis and reliability tests were conducted to verify the validity and reliability of the measurement tools. In addition, t-test and one-way ANOVA were conducted to analyze differences in psychological skill level, mental ability, and performance according to general characteristics of the subjects. Duncan's method was used for post test. In addition, Pearson correlation analysis was used for correlation analysis. Finally, input type regression analysis was performed to examine the psychological skill level and psychological skill level of interstitial players. All statistical significance levels were set to α = .05 .
As a result, the differences of psychological skill level, mental power, and performance according to demographic characteristics were as follows. First, in age, it showed differences between goal setting and performance as sub-factors of psychological skill level. Second, there was a significant difference in performance and goal sitting in career as it did in age. In terms of the difference of psychological skill level and mental power according to the performance level, the higher the level of performance, the higher the level of mental skill, automatic performance, and relaxation of tension as sub-factors of psychological skill level and the higher the resilience of the players as sub-factors of mental power.
In the correlation analysis, there was a significant positive correlation between the level of psychological skill and mental power, but it was not correlated with self belief, success setting, situation knowledge, and optimism in the sub-factors of psychological skill. There was a significant negative correlation between psychological skill level and performance, but there was no correlation between performance and goal setting. And there was a significant correlation between self-belief and resilience only in relation to mental strength and performance. There was no significant correlation in other factors.
The effect of the level of psychological technology on mental power was that automatic performance, which is a sub-factor of psychological technology, affected the five most sub-factors(self-belief, attention, success setting, situational knowledge and resilience), that the target setting affected four sub-factors(attention, emotional, situational knowledge, optimism), and that imagery has the same effect on the four sub-factors(self-reliance, attention, success setting, optimism). Next, emotional regulation affected two sub-factors(self-belief, emotional regulation), and talking oneself also affected two sub-factor (situation, resilience). Finally, negative thoughts and distraction did not affect the sub-factor of mental power. The effect of psychological skill level on performance was negatively effected only in automatic performance. The effect of mental power on performance was negatively affected only in resilience, but F value was above .05 .
To summarize the results of this study, the higher the level of psychological skill, the higher the mental toughness and performance, and the higher the mental toughness, the higher the performance. However, psychological skill level rather than mental toughness has a great impact on performance. Therefore, physical training is important to improve the competitiveness of Inter skiers, but it can be demonstrated that training combined with psychological skills and mental enhancement can exert a better performance. Based on the results of this study, it will be useful data to improve the performance of Inter ski athletes if subsequent research to develop Inter ski's psychological skills and mental training program is made.
