카드뮴 노출에 따른 강도다리, Platichthys stellatus의 생체축적, 성장, 혈액 및 항산화효소의 변화
- Abstract
- Cadmium(Cd) is a non-essential element that has potentially toxic effects on aquatic plants and animals when present in excessive amounts. It is common heavy metal pollutants of the environment. Heavy metals such as cadmium accumulate throgh the food chain and cause a stress response. also Cd has adverse effects on growth, reproduction, osmoregulation. cadmium toxicity affects respiratory function and the composition of plasma.
Therefore, the objective of present study was to investigate the effects of 4 weeks exposure to dietary cadmium (0, 5, 10, 20, 40, 80 mg/kg) on bioaccumulation, growth, hematology parameter, antioxidant response.
Bioaccumulation of cadmium was mostly in the order of intestine, liver, spleen, kidney, gill and muscle. more than four weeks accumulated more than two weeks. Generally, compared to control, bioaccumulation was significantly increased 80mg Cd/kg concentration. however there was no significant change in muscle.
Growth indexes generally decreased at 80mg Cd/kg concentration. hepatosoatic index showed a significant decrease at 40 mg Cd/kg.
In hematology parameters, RBC count and Hematocrit value was significantly decrease in 2 and 4 weeks at 80mg Cd/kg compared to control. hemoglobin was significantly decreased at concentration above 20mg Cd/kg. the blood components such as glucose, total Cholesterol, Glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) and Glutamic pyruvate transaminase (GPT) were significantly increased. Total protein, Mgnesium, Calcium were significantly decreased. Superoxide dimutase (SOD), Catalse (CAT), Glutathione S-transferase (GST), Reduced glutathione (GSH) of antioxidant enzyme were significantly increased in liver and kidney and gill in high concentration Cadmium.
