Modern society has achieved high economic growth with the change of social structure. Especially, the age of aging in Korea is progressing unprecedentedly due to the demographic change. Korea has the highest population growth rate of the OECD countries for the past 40 years. It is expected to enter into an aging society within the next 10 years. The desire to gain to be beautiful is a basic human desire regardless of age and the times. In addition, many changes are taking place to older people's life due to the extension of the average life expectancy. In particular, today's old-age women are making a lot of effort to invest their time and money to keep their beautiful appearance with their healthy body. This study is based on case studies of Korea and Japan where aging has begun before. The Cosmetic behavior is included as an artistic act that can be approached easily by children and adults of all ages. Therefore, it can be an effective alternative as a therapy for depression and dementia prevention to old age women. The purpose of this study is understanding the psychological effects of Cosmetic behavior and improving the quality of life elderly women. Cosmetic behavior of elderly women is effective not only in preventing depression and dementia, but also very helpful for interpersonal relations and way to relieve stress.
