- Abstract
- This study was carried out to investigate the effect of Sing on the damping capacity of Fe-27Mn-4Co-2Ali alloy. Martensite was formed with according to the specific direction and surface relief. With the increasing degree of cold rolling, amount of αʹ-martensite was rapidly increased, whereas amount of ε-martensite was decreased after rising to maximum value at specific lever of cold rolling. Damping capacity was increase, and then decreased with an increasing of degree of cold rolling. By addition of Si, the formation of ε-martensite was promoted, but on the αʹ-martensite was not affected. Damping capacity was increase by addition of Si. Increasing of damping capacity was influenced greatly to the volume fraction of ε-martensite formed by cold rolling. Damping capacity of cold rolled damping alloy was dominated by the αʹ-martensite.
