- Abstract
- The demand for multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) is increasing, and accordingly, the clean room for manufacturing MLCC is also increasing. However, domestic standards related to clean rooms are still insufficient. Therefore, this paper was performed to analyze the evacuation safety of the MLCC factory through fire and evacuation simulation as the first step toward the performance-based design(PBD) of the MLCC factory clean room, and to present the performance criteria for the PBD of the MLCC factory clean room based on this.
Through the criteria related to clean room, analysis of clean room fire accidents, and review of previous studies, the fire risk of clean room was analyzed. As a result, the major risk factors for clean rooms were “building structure”, “facilities and air conditioning systems”, “use of dangerous substances” and “working conditions”. I performed 14 simulations (2 fire simulations, 12 evacuation simulations) to compare the simulation results according to each risk factor. To compare the simulation results according to the first risk factor, the building structure, three scenarios were classified according to the operation of the door interlock. The second risk factor, equipment and air conditioning system was classified according to the operation of air conditioning equipment. The third risk factor, the use of dangerous substances, was not considered in this paper. The fourth risk factor, working conditions, was classified according to the Walking speed according to workers wearing clean clothes and the number of workers. Scenarios related to air conditioning facilities were reflected as fire simulation scenarios, and the scenarios were reflected in the simulation as evacuation simulation scenarios. All simulation results were compared according to the non-coupling method and the semi-coupling method.
Finally, the simulation results according to the four factors and the life safety evaluation method (non-coupling method, semi-coupling method) are compared, and through this, PBD design performance standards for the MLCC plant's clean room are presented.
