- Abstract
- Reservoirs are responsible for not only the provision of agricultural·industrial water but also improvement of river water quality. They are considered as extremely important irrigation facilities as they account for 60.5% of the total areas for agricultural infrastructure. However, small-scale reservoirs are not being managed systematically, and the exact amount of available reservoir storage has not been identified. For measurement of the underwater, a multibeam echosounder has been installed on a unmanned ship to measure the depth of water. The HIPS & SIPS program was used to handle the data and to create TIN model, bathymetric map, and underwater topographic map. For measurement of the above-water, the ortho imagery taken by the unmanned aerial vehicle was processed using PIX 4D program to create 3D mesh and DSM. The two types of data above were combined to establish the integrated spatial information and to measure the available reservoir storage. The combination of the unmanned ship and unmanned aerial vehicle can be used for the management of reservoir information since it reduces the time and the number of people required for measurement while enabling the rapid acquisition of the data. The spatial information acquired by the combination of the unmanned ship and unmanned aerial vehicle installed with the multibeam echosounder can be used for the calculation of available reservoir storage, time sequential geographic changes, and waterfront development. It can be used not only in small-scale reservoirs but also medium-scale and large-scale reservoirs as well as for establishment of maritime spatial information such as river and sea.
