Alternative Title
A study on block chain technology and its application to sharing economy services
Abstract
Blockchain is a distributed ledger technology that records information about transactions in computerized units called blocks, links them like chains, and distributes blocks to all nodes participating in the network. That is, a de-centralized system that guarantees the transaction by verification and agreement between participating nodes without central agencies acting as intermediaries, interventions or guarantees for the transaction.
Blockchain is based on a peer-to-peer network structure in which nodes are directly connected, and uses consensus algorithms such as proof of work (POW) to verify the legitimacy of the block results generated by that network and to agree between nodes. It also introduces electronic signatures and hash functions to prevent forgery and modulation of blocks.
Blockchain’s first-generation technology is designed for cryptocurrency, and ethereum, called the second-generation technology, has expanded its functions to include smart contracts as well as cryptocurrency. Smart contracts are a technology that automatically enters into contracts when certain conditions are established, and various studies are currently being carried out actively by establishing a platform for applying blockchain technology focused on the financial sector to various industries.
The biggest characteristic of the blockchain is its reliability. and the most reliable industry in recent years is the sharing economy service sector.
A sharing economy service is a structure that realises revenue by lending physical and time allowances to assets held by an entity or an individual. Such conduct does not occur without the trust of the other party, either the lender or the person who uses the asset at a certain cost. Currently, such a function of trust is assured by a sharing economy service company, but if blockchain technology, which features trust, takes over its role, the sharing economy service will expand and upgrade into various areas. This paper tries to examine the concept and feature principle and future trends of blockchain and how to make it more efficiently graft into shared economic services.
