Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of methylmercury contamination of imported deep sea fishes (tuna, swordfish, mako shark, longjaw rockfish, sable fish, pacific hagfish, Patagonian toothfish). A total of 1007 cases, classified by country of origin for each item, were examined using the GC-ECD method, and significant differences were found among the groups. As a result of validation for methyl mercury analysis, the detection limit was 3.41μg / L and the quantification limit was 11.26μg / L. The recovery test to confirm the accuracy was 84.9 ~ 95.5% for the tuna, swordfish and rockfish. The methylmercury calibration curve showed excellent linearity with a correlation coefficient of 0.9982. The methylmercury content (mean ± standard deviation, unit: mg / kg), swordfish (0.214 ± 0.212) were higher than tuna (0.098 ± 0.114), and longjaw rockfish (0.017 ± 0.078) was the lowest compared to tuna, swordfish and pacific hagfish (0.153 ± 0.132). Mako shark (0.152 ± 0.169), sable fish (0.056 ± 0.109) and Patagonian toothfish (0.085 ± 0.164) did not show any significant differences from other items. According to the comparison of tuna items, yellowfin tuna (0.032 ± 0.068) showed lower methyl mercury value than southern bluefin tuna (0.129 ± 0.164), bigeye tuna (0.120 ± 0.136) and bluefin tuna (0.098 ± 0.099).

As a result of classification by country of origin, the highest value was detected in China 0.858mg/kg. Classification number were Asia 320, Europe 242, Africa 213, Middle East 74, South America 34, Oceania 83, and North America 41. As a result of verifying the difference in methyl mercury value according to the origin classification, it was found that Asia (0.139 ± 0.167) was higher than Europe (0.0.80 ± 0.090). The mean value was highest in Africa (0.122 ± 0.136) and no statistical significance was found in the Middle East (0.097 ± 0.117), South America (0.081 ± 0.133), Oceania (0.085 ± 0.128) and North America (0.097 ± 0.133).
