Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the impact of job training instructors' ability on job preparation behavior of college students. Specific research issues are as follows.
First, what is the difference between the perception of job training instructor competence and job preparation behavior based on demographic statistics of college students? Second, how does the ability of a vocational education instructor affect the job preparation behavior of university students? Third, how does the ability of a vocational education instructor affect the sub-factors of job preparation behavior for college students?
To carry out the purpose of this research, we met college students in person and asked for a survey, or distributed google form to an open chat room to conduct the survey online. Some questions of the survey were revised and supplemented after conducting a preliminary survey on 50 college students with more than eight hours of experience in job-related education, such as job-related lectures, job camps, job curriculums and job courses, within the four-year universities in Busan, H, D, and P, from Sept. 2, 2019. Next, 335 questionnaires were used for the analysis, except those that were unresponsive or unresponsive, by analyzing the results of the research obtained by conducting the survey from September 1, 2019, to October 1, 2019.
The collected questionnaire used the SPSS 22.0 program for demonstration analysis. Specific data analysis methods are as follows. First, reliability analysis using Cronbach's ɑ value was conducted to find out the reliability of the measurement tool. Second, frequency analysis was conducted to identify the general characteristics of the study subjects. Third, technical statistics were conducted to identify the average and standard deviation of major variables. Fourth, the independent sample t-verification and one-way ANOVA (One-way ANOVA) were conducted to examine differences in the instructor’s ability and perception of job preparation behavior depending on the general characteristics of college students. Fifth, a correlation analysis was conducted to identify the correlation between the variables. Sixth, multiple return analysis was conducted to determine the impact of the vocational education instructor’s ability on the job preparation behavior of college students.
The results of the study found in the data analysis are as follows.
First, it was found that there were differences in gender awareness between the competence of job instructors and the awareness of job preparation behavior based on the demographic characteristics of college students. And by grade, the difference in perceptions of teachers in job training was not statistically significant. There was a statistically significant difference between the classes of majors. Second, it has been shown that the ability of job instructors has a significant impact on college students' job preparation behavior. In particular, it was found that the personality and attitude of instructors and the ability to provide information support among vocational education instructors had a positive impact on college students' job preparation behavior. Third, it has been shown that the ability of job instructors has a significant impact on the sub-factors of job preparation behavior for college students. In particular, it was found that the personality, attitude, and information support of teachers among the competencies of job instructors had a positive impact on both preliminary job preparation and full-scale job preparation activities. And it has been shown that the design of classes among the competencies of vocational education instructors has a negative impact.
