Abstract
PSC girder bridges, widely applied to road bridges and railway bridges, are a type of bridge that introduces compressive forces in advance to the part where tensile force of concrete is generated. Tension of the tensioning material, prestressing strand, is a key factor in PSC bridge performance. However, the tension is caused by a number of factors such as immediate loss, relaxation,, drying shrinkage of concrete, and creep. Loss of tension is a factor that reduces the safety of the structure. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a technology to manage and monitor the tension of the tensioning materials. In this experiment, the fundamental performance verification experiment of exposed sensor module was conducted to develop sensor modules that can measure prestress of PSC bridge using Hetero-core Optical fiber sensor.
