건설 산업에서 인공지능(AI) 기술 도입 현황과 발전방향 연구

Abstract
Currently, in many industrial fields, the importance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Artificial intelligence (AI) is recognized and new technologies based on Artificial intelligence (AI) are actively introduced. The need for this innovative change cannot be an exception in the construction industry.

The global construction market is recovering from COVID-19, but the domestic construction industry is steadily decreasing productivity and efficiency due to weakening competitiveness of domestic companies and decreasing production population.

The purpose of this study is to identify the limitations of the traditional construction industry and its current position in preparation for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution through comparison of other industries and construction industries, and to suggest the direction of development to become a core industry leading the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

For the purpose of this study, 10 ‘artificial intelligence industries’ were selected as major industrial fields related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution through theoretical background, and the main keywords were ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’, ‘Artificial Intelligence’, and ‘Big Data’. In addition, advanced new technologies using artificial intelligence (AI) and information and communication technology (ICT) were defined as “Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies” in the construction industry, and 13 major artificial intelligence (AI) technologies were selected considering the importance of technology and future utilization.

The research method was conducted by literature research method and the data of domestic thesis which is the basic data of this study was collected and analyzed by using RISS(Korean Educational Research Information Service, Academic Research Information Service). The scope of the study was set from 2016 to 2021, when the discussion on the Fourth Industrial Revolution began in earnest through WEF.

In this study, to find out the position of construction industry in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution, this study analyzed domestic dissertations with 'fourth industrial revolution', 'artificial intelligence', and 'big data' as the thesis name or the theme in artificial intelligence industry. In addition, the present condition of AI technology introduction in domestic construction industry was confirmed through comparative analysis of the current status of the use of AI technology and the current status of research.

As a result of this study, the current status of construction industry in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution is significantly insufficient compared to artificial intelligence industry, and it is analyzed as 9th out of 10 industries. In addition, the introduction status of AI technology in the construction industry was analyzed in the order of BIM, drone, big data, and artificial intelligence in terms of research status. In terms of utilization status, drones, BIM, modular, big data and artificial intelligence were analyzed in order.

In summary, the preparation status of the domestic construction industry in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution is relatively insufficient compared to other industries, and the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technology is also narrow and limited to some construction stages.

In order to overcome the problems and limitations faced by the domestic construction industry, digital conversion must be introduced to the construction industry. If the construction industry is constructed in a form that can utilize the experience and data of the construction industry through digital conversion based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the construction industry will be able to move to the core industry leading the era of the fourth industrial revolution through a rational decision-making method based on big data.
