Finland's Juhani Pallasmaa criticizes the visual-centric tendencies of modern architecture and cities, and argues for the restoration of human sensibility through multisensory architectural experiences. In this study, based on Pallasmaa's architectural theory, the interaction of the senses is considered and elements for a multisensory architectural experience are derived. He appears in the architectural works of Peter Zumthor and Kuma Kengo, and Steven Holl and Daniel Libeskind, using the four elements of 'Breaking the visual form, Body sensation and perception, Body movement and Action, and Emotional internalization'. The expressive characteristics of sensory experience were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it can be seen that the multisensory expression characteristics in each architect's work are expressed in whole or in part depending on the purpose of the space, and appear in various forms and multisensory elements depending on the cultural and emotional aspects and which senses are more focused on. Although architectural thinking and expression methods are different, it can be said that they are realizing architectural space as a multisensory experience in their own way. Through this study, the restoration of human sensory ability through the multisensory architectural experience proposed by Pallasmaa was recognized as important, and multisensory experiential architecture should be the goal and direction overlooked by modern architecture.
