한국산 매퉁이과(Synodontidae) 자치어 8종의 분자 동정 및 형태 기재

Abstract

Lizardfish (Aulopiforms: Synodontidae) are widely distributed in the bottom of temperate, tropical and subtropical waters, and 83 species in 4 genera are distributed worldwide, 23 species in 4 genera in Japan, 10 species in 4 genera in Korea has been reported. Compared to studies of adult fish, studies on the early life history of fishes in the family Synodontidae have not been conducted relatively. It is crucial to accurately identify the early life history of species in order to detect changes in marine ecosystems and to understand phylogenetic relationship of species. Therefore, in this study, molecular identification was performed on 150 specimens of larvae of Synodontidae collected from Korean waters between June 2017 and July 2021 using Bongo net. Molecularly identified larvae of Synodontidae were observed to have significant morphological differences in melanophore, counts, morphometric characteristics and body shape. The morphological characteristics of species and genus within the early life history of Synodontidae appeared as important data for interpreting the phylogenetic relationship within the Northwest Pacific Synodontidae. Ultimately, the identification key created based on the results of the current study will enable the accurate identification of early life history of Synodontidae, and further increase the efficiency of fishery resource management.
