LZ압축법을 이용한 BAPLIE 전자문서의 전송시스템 구축에 관한 연구

Abstract
In this thesis, construction of transmission system for BAPLIE(BAy PLan occupIed and Empty locations) message by LZ compression method is implemented.
Today, EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) involves the computer to computer interchange of standardized electronic the bayplan message for container vessels is one of the EDIFACT(Electronic Data Interchange For Administration, Commerce and Transport) standard format. BAPLIE is used to transmit information about all occupied places onboard of a vessel to interested parties like the shipowner and the terminal operator in the next port of call.
EDI translation system of the container terminal is designed as host computer mode and interactive operation. In hardware connection, BAPLIE is communicated with between container terminal and shipowner’s branch office directly by using asynchrous mode on host computer and PC. In software design, the transmission process is composed of compression, communication and decompression which are operated under the main programs of host computer and PC respectively. As a result of testing by LZP coding, LZSS-8 coding and modified LZW coding, the best conditions of the compression and decompression method are extracted. And the suitable classes of PCs are selected in the transmission environment by analyzing their performance in terms of processing time.
The system is implemented by using DG’s COBOL and ANSI “C” on AOS/VSII and MS DOS.
