구조체의 특성이 압전-구조 연성시스템의 전기역학적 임피던스에 미치는 영향

Abstract
Recently PZT based electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) sensing technique has been shown its effectiveness in damage detection of concrete structures. The EMI response of a coupled PZT-structure system is changed due to the presence of damages in the structure. This characteristic behavior of EMI response has been utilized to detect damages in concrete structures. However, a conventional damage detection method using the EMI response ignores the effects of the geometrical and the material properties of a structure. Not only the presence of damage but also the geometrical and material properties of a target structure may affect the EMI responses of the PZT-structure coupled system. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the size and the elastic modulus of a concrete structure on the EMI response of the PZT-structure coupled system. EMI responses of various sizes of structures on which a PZT is attached are calculated and the results are compared with the modal parameters of the structures. The results shows that the peaks in EMI signature coincide with the natural frequencies of the structure and the magnitudes and positions of those peaks change with the size and elastic modulus of structures. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the size and material properties of a structure should be considered when the EMI sensing technique is utilized for the damage detection.
