동사 ‘pick'의 목적어 연어 분석:영한사전의 개선을 위하여

Abstract

There are a variety of meanings of the English verb ‘pick' but, Koreans don't know well what the main meaning is. Even those who study English for a long time often do not know the main meaning. The reason is most of English-Korean dictionaries have the different definitions for the main meaning so, it gives confusion to leaners who study English. The purpose of this study is for the improvement of English-Korean dictionary from the data obtained by analyzing their objective noun collocations from the COCA program and the Cocoma Sejong Malmungchi pogram. It shows the 12 Korean meanings of the English verb ‘pick' in this thesis by classifying 58 objective noun collocations which were obtained through the COCA program. The main meaning of it are the Korean verbs ‘Suntaekhada/ Goruda/ Bbo bda'. This study could get the objective data because the data is from the COCA program for people using English as their own language. I hope this thesis is helpful for English learners and the existing English-Korean dictionaries can be improved with more objective and unified data.
