- Abstract
- This paper investigated the mechanical and leaching characteristics of mixed soil that consist of different ratio of water sludge(0%, 10%, 30%, 50%) and weathered granite soil. Tensile strength and type of waste fishing net was investigated by conducting fiber identification and wide-width tensile tests after pickup the waste fishing net. Several series of laboratory tests were carried out, including compaction test, triaxial test, consolidation test, saturated permeability test for mechanical characteristics of mixed soil. In addition leaching test was carried out for environmental effect of mixed soil. Glue treated WFN(1&2 layer) was also added to mixed soil to improve the interlocking between the soil particle and surface of WFN.
The experimental test result of mixed soils indicated that maximum dry unit weight, cohesion, friction angle, permeability were decreased, but optimum moisture content, compression index, expansion index, compressibility were increased with increase in water sludge mixed ratio. In reinforced mixed soil, cohesion and friction angle was increased due to the inclusion of WFN and glue treated WFN(1&2 layer). Leaching result of mixed soil was also satisfied with Drinking water quality standard(DWS), leachate emissions(LE), water pollutants emissions(WPE) except in the case water sludge mixed ratio was 50%.
