중국의 국가이미지 제고 전략에 관한 연구
- Abstract
- A nation's image abroad is a scale to measure the strength of the nation in the international community, therefore most developed and developing countries have organized special purpose organizations to raise the national image positively. Since the opening of the economy, China has been developed it economy sharply, but unlikely the poor national image apart from economic success, China has persisted continued efforts to improve its image.
The strategies of politics, economy and foreign affairs to raise the national image will be explored broadly in this study and Konzi Academy as a soft power will be investigated to clarify influences to the national image.
Diplomatic activities are closely connected with time period and China makes an effort to raise the national image positively though the contributions in the international community. Beijing consensus takes advantage of market economy and planned economic structure and represents an alternative economic development model often for guiding reform in developing countries. Apart from the economic policy, the oversea expansion strategy of culture tried in many ways of cultural exchange abroad, so these efforts have raised the recognition and perception of China and Chinese culture. As a result, to dispel the China Threat with developing economy, and to enhance the national image, KongZi Academy are established as a part of diplomatic activities.
The Chinese government strengthen the soft power by sharing the confucianism of Konzi, deviating the Asian boundary that is, confucianism is an Asian cultural heritage.
Beyond the function of spreading culture through language academy, Kongzi Academy gives experiences mutual exchange of cultures in local communities. Chinese government tried to raise the national image positively and inform political issues and policies through exporting cultural value by Konzi Academy. These are followings : amicable national image against from China Threat, friendship from various cultural heritages, spreading image of China as a developing country from underdeveloped one, and the function as a booster enhancing cultural exchange and economic effects.
Not a one time academic experience but as a ongoing supporting process by the Chinese government, Kongzi Academy is spreading its numbers rapidly in all around world. Through the cultural exchange in local communities, change in the perception and understanding will raise the national image positively. although, activities of Kongzi Academy are likely concentric circles, over time, the influences will come out significantly.
