Abstract
A new 3D image encryption method using 3D display methods Integral Imaging (II) technology and Maximum Length Cellular Automata (MLCA) is proposed in this paper. First, an Elemental Image (EI) is attained by the II pickup process. Then first encryption process which changes the pixel values is progressed by comparing Random Number Maxtrix (RNM) and the pixel values of EI generated according to the MLCA rule. After, basis image is generated by two types of MLCA rules which have 8-cell, 2-state and 3-neighbor CA construction, the final encryption image is attained through a logic bit exclusive-OR (XOR) operation. Using the pixel values to visualize image data gives better encryption results than the previous method by changing basis pixel values. Through the experiments of the restoration after losing data like cropping attacks and the restoration after adding noise, this paper analyzes the robustness of the encryption method. This paper also evaluates the safety of the encryption method using histograms, comparing Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and analyzing key space. Lastly the result which analyzes the usefulness of encryption is proposed how the application of multi encryption is possible.
