EBSe 내용중심 프로그램 활용 수업이 어휘력과 정의적 영역에 미치는 효과

Abstract

Along with the rapid globalization and an open-door policy, English communication skills is one of the important skills for the students to improve during their schooldays. As the inequality in English education gets worse, it requires EBSe to provide a good quality English education service. This study presents a class model using EBSe's content-based program and to evaluate its effect on students' vocabulary skills and the affective domain is the class model. For this study, I constructed 20 classes with several EBSe programs suitable for Grade 1 students' curriculum. This class model is consistent with the curriculum integrated contents for Grade 1. To evaluate the effect of this class model, the cognitive tests of the learners’ listening section and the test of affective domain such as students' confidence, interests, participation and self-directed study skill were operated with quantitative analysis. Along with these surveys, the qualitative analysis made on classroom observations, on students' interviews and through teacher's classroom journal. The results on this study are as follows. First, through the analysis of before & after listening skilsl in vocabulary ability, the class model has positive effects on student's listening skill improvements in vocabulary ability. Second, the class model has highly positive effects on affective domain, such as students' confidence, interests, participation and self-directed study skill. Among these skills, self-directed study skill has been improved the most. Based on this study result, the class model suggests the following for the English education utilizing EBSe contents based program. First, the class model should be provided to be able to adapt the EBSs contents based program according the student's English level. Second, it is necessary to seek how to utilize EBSe program in school English classroom as motivation material, additional material and etc. Third, a proper teacher's guide on utilizing EBSe program should be provided. Fourth, it is especially necessary to provide good quality EBSe contents to the harsh environmental students.
