Abstract
Four new zinc(II) and cadmium(II) complexes with the composition [Zn(L)(2,6-ndc)]_(n) (1), {[Zn(L)(H_(2)O)_(2)](2,6-nds)}_(n) (2), {[Cd_(2)(L)_(2)(WO_(4))_(2)]•9H2O}_(n) (3) and {[Cd_(2)(L)_(2)(MoO_(4))_(2)]9H2O}_(n) (4), where L = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, 2,6-ndc = 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate, 2,6-nds = 2,6-naphthalenedisulfonate, have been synthesized and structurally characterized by a combination of microanalytical, spectroscopic, and X-ray diffraction methods. The complex 1 shows a one-dimensional coordination polymer in which each zinc ion is bridged by an ndc anion. The complex 2 shows a two-dimensional hydrogen bonded supramolecular structure in which each mononuclear unit is connected by intermolecular hydrogen bonds between the molecules. Two cadmium complexes, 3 and 4 show 2D sheet structures, respectively, in which each dimeric unit is connected by intermolecular hydrogen bonds between molecules.
