수영만의 장기해저지형변화에 따른 파랑변형 특성에 관한 연구

- A Study of Wave Transformation Characteristics Caused by Long-Term Bottom Topographic Changes in Suyeong Bay
- Abstract
- Suyeong bay, where is located in the southeast of Korea. Suyeong bay is characterized by very complex bathymetry due to environmental condition. Therefore, the bottom topography is consistently changed. Variation of bottom topography affects the wave transformation. For this reason this paper is studied in variation of bottom topography using the charts (No. 202, 1:50,000; 1998, 2009) developed by National Marine Investigation Institute and the effect on wave transformation due to variation of bottom topography for 11 years in the vicinity of Suyeong bay. Then, the SWAN third-generation spectral model was used to simulate wave transformation in study area.
The main results from the study are summarized as following:
(1) At less than 10 m depth, deposition was observed more than 3 m in the right and the left side of Suyeong river, Dongback island and south of Gwanganli beach.
(2) Incident wave height for all wave directions in the southern of Haeundae beach are suddenly decreased to less than 5 m at the water depths around 20 m.
(3) We found that the strong wave was S wave direction at Suyeong estuary and Heaundae beach and E wave direction at Gwangan beach as well as Yongho bay.
(4) In the western of Suyeong estuary, wave height is decreased by deposition for all wave direction, However the wave height is increased with the maximum value about 0.95 m in Haeundae beach, Gwanganli beach and Yongho etc.
From these results imply that the changing of the bottom topography in Suyeong estuary is showed locally effect to reducing and increasing of wave height. Thus, we can minimize the risk factors through continuous management and monitoring about region where wave height is increased due to bottom topography changes.
