Abstract

In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, it is time for the Korean economy to break away from the structure of large corporations and build a growth structure centered on competitive SMEs. Therefore, although the importance of technology development of SMEs is increasing, the problem of technology leakage is also increasing. Accordingly, various projects are under way in the Small and Medium Business Venture Business Department in relation to technology protection of SMEs. This study introduces the technology escrow system, and also examines the Korea Foundation for Cooperation of Large&Small Business, Rural Affairs, the Korea technology finance corporation, and the Korea Copyright Commission. The current status and cases of domestic use of technology escrow system are investigated. It also introduces the current status of the legal system for technology escrow system in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, China, India and Benelux. It also examines the differences between the technology escrow system and the transaction record registration system. In addition, through interviews with 10 companies that use the actual technology escrow system, the reason for using the technology escrow system and the satisfaction and improvement when using the technology escrow system are checked. The contents of the interview will be analyzed using word cloud and tree map using R-Program to present strategic implications for the future development of the technology escrow system.
