한국 남해 및 제주도 주변해역에서의 갈치 어란·자치어 분포
- Abstract
- Hairtalis, Trichiurus japonicus (Trichiuridae: Perciformes) is widespread distributed in temperate and tropical seas including western, southern sea of the Korean peninsula. It is one of the most commercial species and important fishery resources with Scomber japonicus and Larimichthys polyactis in Korea, Japan and China. In recent years the global warming is changing the marine environment as well as marine ecosystem around the Korean peninsula. Therefore, it is important to know spawning grounds for their management and conservation. This study investigated the spawning ground based on distribution of eggs and larvae of T. japonicus. The ichthyoplankton surveys conducted around Jeju Island and southern sea of Korea from May 2009 to February 2012. The eggs and larvae of T. japonicus were identified based on their morphological characteristics, and compared with their adult’s Cytochrom c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequence in mitochondrial DNA using polymerase chain reaction(PCR). Consequently, the eggs and larvae collected in this study, were identified T. japonicus. The eggs collected around Jeju Island and southern sea of Korea, north eastern sea of East China Sea in May and August. Based on eggs and larvae occurrence, Jeju Island , the southern sea of Korea and north eastern sea of East China Sea were suggested as the spawning ground of T. japonicus. The eggs and larvae of T. japonicus were not found on low temperature and low salinity areas.
