A Study on the Importance-Satisfaction Analysis of Consignment Sale Factor of Fisheries Cooperatives : A Case of the Oyster Hanging Fisheries Cooperatives
Abstract
The position of the fishery product port market is being weakened due to a reduction of the coastal fishery production amount, institution of the free market system, increase of fishery products importation, and extension of the direct marketing of producers and street distribution dealing of large retail stores.
Weakening of the position of the fishery product port market directly leads to reduction of the role and management deterioration of the port fisheries cooperatives. The biggest role that the port fisheries cooperatives play in the fishery product port market is a consignment sale activity in the port consignment sale market, and this role of fisheries cooperatives in the domestic fishery products distribution market is very important for stable supplies of domestic fishery products and stable prices through activation of public functions of domestic fishery products distribution and improvement of the fishery products distribution system.
In this reality, it is needed to study the effects of the fishery product port market consignment sale of fisheries cooperatives on fishermen, and whether it is properly performing its function, and in order to enhance consignment sale businesses of fisheries cooperatives, it is needed to seek measures to accept needs of customers who use the fisheries cooperatives consignment sale market by examining recognition of fishermen.
Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop measurement items and scales of the consignment sale factor for fishermen of the fisheries cooperatives port consignment sale market, and to determine the difference between consignment sale factor importance and satisfaction of fishermen, effects of general issues of fishermen on consignment sale factor importance and satisfaction, general issues of fishermen, and effects of consignment sale factor importance and satisfaction on the route sales rate.
For this, it arranged theoretical backgrounds in relation to concepts and roles of the fishery product port market consignment sale and importance and satisfaction based on typical preceding researches, and examined statuses of the fishery product port market consignment sale, cultured oyster fishery product port market, and consignment sale businesses of the oyster hanging fisheries cooperatives. With these factors and variables, it conducted a survey targeting fishermen who use the fishery product port market consignment sale of the oyster hanging fisheries cooperatives. It used the Importance-Satisfaction Analysis (ISA) for an analysis tool, and performed the multiple regression analysis for hypothesis testing after verifying reliability and validity of measurement values through the reliability analysis and factor analysis.
As a result of this study, first, from the Importance-Satisfaction Analysis (ISA), it turned out that although three factors, advantageousness of price formation, the number of middleman, and fairness/publicity of price determination, are considered important by fishermen who conduct the consignment sale with the oyster hanging fisheries cooperatives, they are not being reflected satisfactorily enough and need improvements urgently. Five factors including consignment sale work immediacy, quick price settlement, and information acquisition turned out to have high importance and satisfaction, compared to other variables.
Second, as a result of conducting the multiple regression analysis to grasp the effects of general issues of fishermen on consignment sale factor importance and satisfaction, of the general issues of fishermen, especially age turned out to have positive (+) effects on the consignment sale factor convenience, safety, reliability importance and safety, and reliability satisfaction, which shows recognition differences of the fisheries cooperatives consignment sale according to age.
Third, as a result of conducting the multiple regression analysis on the effects of general issues of fishermen on the route sales rate, it turned out that using types and areas significantly influence the route sales rate.
Fourth, as a result of conducting the multiple regression analysis on the relation between each consignment sale factor importance and satisfaction and the route sales rate, both the importance and satisfaction of the safety factor have positive (+) effects on the route sales rate. This indicates that the safety factor is the primary factor that makes fishermen use the fishery product port market consignment sale of the oyster hanging fisheries cooperatives, and that induces performance of the consignment sale of the oyster hanging fisheries cooperatives.
