- Abstract
- An Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronizing Motor (IPMSM) is receiving the increased attention for many industrial applications because of it is high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density, and high efficiency.
Basically there are many algorithms for sensorless control of IPMSM, but the SMO for sensorless control of IPMSM was used in this paper. In general, the Sliding Mode Observer has a big advantage of which is low complexity, simple implementation, as well as strong to any noises and a sort of disturbances.
Normally, an IPMSM is in a standstill before an inverter runs and an output frequency of the inverter is increase from 0 Hz. However the motor is in a state of rotating in some cases such as restarting after an instantaneous power interruption. In this case, the inverter cannot be able for estimating location information of IPMSM. In the condition that we could not pick up the exact location information at restarting motor, if an over-current flow into the inverter. In this case, the inverter should be stopped running, at worst, it may cause deadly-damaged to both of motor and inverter. Therefore, it is very important calculating an exact rotor position information of motor when restarting.
There could be some difficulties to extract exact position information by using conventional sensorless control for restarting the motor. To solve this problem, this restarting algorithm in the paper proposes to use a hall sensor. As such, the location estimation using by hall signal can make the algorithm which use the SMO for sensorless control more concise and easy in low price. The algorithm in this paper a certain way of the restarting method.
