아파트공사 기능직 종사자와 단순노무 근로자의 직무스트레스와 작업능력에 관한 연구

Abstract

건설업은 2011년 우리나라 총생산액의 5.3%를 차지했으며, 건설업 취업자의 비율이 2012년 기준 총 취업자의 7.2%에 해당할 정도로 대한민국 국가 경제에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 하지만 그 중요성에도 불구하고 건설업 재해율은 높아지고 있으며, 이는 우리나라 전체 산업재해율이 낮아지고 있다는 사실과 대비된다. 최근 건설공사 근로자의 직무스트레스가 높고 작업능력이 낮을수록 재해 경험이 높아지며, 기능직 근로자에 비해 단순직 근로자의 사망재해가 높은 것으로 연구 결과 나타났다. 따라서, 직무스트레스 및 작업능력에 대한 평가가 재해발생 예방에 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 보인다. 이에 본 연구는 국내의 아파트공사에 종사하는 기능직 근로자와 단순직 근로자를 대상으로 한국산업안전보건공단의 직무스트레스 설문과 필란드산업보건연구원(FIOH)에서 개발된 Work Ability Index(WAI)설문을 이용하여 근로자의 연령, 근속년수, 직종, 취미, 수면, 월평균소득 여부에 따른 직무스트레스 및 작업능력을 평가하고 직무스트레스의 감소와 작업능력의 향상 방안을 모색하였다. 본 연구 결과 직무스트레스가 높을수록 작업능력이 낮아지는 음의 상관관계로 나타났다. 또한, 단순직 근로자는 기능직 근로자 보다 직무스트레스가 높고 작업능력이 낮은 것으로 나타났으며 그 외 수면, 근속년수, 월평균소득 항목에서 직무스트레스와 작업능력의 상관성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 단순직 근로자의 고용안정과 능력에 따른 보상을 제공하고 열악한 건설현장의 근무환경을 개선하고 작업능력 향상을 위한 훈련프로그램 등 정부차원의 정책적 지원이 마련되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

The construction industry largely influences the Korean national economy, as it achieved 5.3% of the country's gross domestic product(GDP) in 2011, and construction workers represented 7.2% of the total employment in 2012. In spite of these figures, however, the construction industry accident rate is increasing, and it contrasts to the fact that the overall Korean industry accident rate is decreasing. Recently, a study has shown that construction industry workers with higher job stress and lower work ability are more likely to experience accidents at their workplace. Likewise, the number of fatal accidents is higher among unskilled workers compared to skilled workers. Therefore the evaluation of a worker's job stress and work ability seems important in preventing the occurrence of fatal accidents. To seek ways to reduce job stress and to improve work ability, the current study conducted a job stress analysis based on age, years of service, type of work, hobbies, sleep patterns, and monthly income by using the Korean occupational stress questionnaire short form and the Work Ability Index (WAI) developed by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) on unskilled workers and skilled workers. There was negative correlation between, occupational stress and, the work ability. Also, unskilled labor workers were likely to have higher job stress and less work ability than trades workers. Furthermore, job stress and work ability were correlated with age, years of service, and monthly income. Thus, it is concluded that supporting government policies must provide unskilled workers with job security, performance-related rewards, and training programs to improve work ability and ensure the safety of the working environment in construction sites.
