영어 접속사 ‘and'의 한국어 번역유형에 관한 연구

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the Korean translation of the English coordinate conjunction 'and' in terms of syntax and semantics. In particular, it focuses on finding Korean equivalents that exactly correspond to the English coordinate conjunction 'and'. Then, the analysis of our English-Korean parallel corpus shows that the English coordinate conjunction 'and’ is translated into several different types of Korean constructions. The findings of this study indicate that there is the connective functional elements: connecting ending, conjunctive particle, conjunctive adverb in Korean which takes a role of English coordinate conjunction 'and' with classifications of the function.
