An analysis on the placeness of playful classroom in the children's pictures
Abstract
Children's play continues from the past to the present, and for children, play is life itself. As the importance of play has emerged due to the revision of the kindergarten curriculum, changes have also begun in the field of education due to the operation of the 2019 revised Nuri curriculum. However, in the field of early childhood education, research on the space where the autonomy of the children is guaranteed, that is, playing on the outside playground and outside space is called play, and the study on the kindergarten classroom where the infant spends a lot of time is insufficient. Therefore, this study was conducted to find the meaning of the kindergarten classroom in which children play through the pictures of children and to provide the necessary foundation for supporting children's play. What is the meaning of the kindergarten classroom as a play area in the infant's pictures drawn? In order to find out about this research problem, 50 children aged 5 years and older were randomly selected and drew twice in April and October 2019. And the pictures drawn by the children were analyzed from a phenomenological point of view. As a result, the kindergarten classroom appeared as a space of relationship, learning, creation, experiment and potential.
1. As a space of relationship, the kindergarten classroom appeared as a place to establish relationships with friends, to meet with early childhood plaything.
2. As a space for learning, the kindergarten classroom was a place to imitate and learn, and a place where knowledge was created.
3. As a space for creation, the kindergarten classroom appeared as a place where playtime was created and a space free of boundaries.
4. As a space for experimentation, the kindergarten classroom was a place where imagination was made and an adventure unfolded.
5. As a space of potential, the kindergarten classroom appeared to be a place where you can play and immerse yourself at any time.
In conclusion, it was found that children in the kindergarten classroom play whatever they like and enjoy themselves. Based on this dissertation, a practical study of play activities that teachers can work with is needed to find the meaning of true play in the kindergarten classroom.
