- Abstract
- In this paper torsional shearing stress in underwater tunnel section is analyzed based on the theory of torsional moment in thin walled closed section. The results obtained from this study are as follows:
1) The coefficient matrix for integral route for the analysis of shear flow and shear stress is symmetric and diagonal elements are consistently larger than off-undiagonal element.
2) For the symmetric shear flow and shear stress were symmetrically appeared section of underwater tunnel. And also, shear stress of horizontal members appeared larger than those of longitudinal members. Therefore, stirrup bar need be reinforced for horizontal members in design.
