Effect Analysis of SmartFactory Support Project impact on Corporate Performance indicator : Focusing on Ulsan Reginal
Abstract
According to the World Manufacturing Competitiveness Index (CIPindex) released by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Korea ranks third in the world in manufacturing, accounting for 97.3 percent of total exports and 27.5 percent of GDP. However, competition for manufacturing innovation is accelerating around the world, and high-intensity innovation is required to strengthen competitiveness due to the stagnation of our major industries. At this point, the government launched a specialized agency to transform 50 percent of small and medium-sized manufacturers into smart factories, and to transform 30,000 out of 67,000 small and medium-sized companies with more than 10 employees into smart factories. About 25,000 smart factories are scheduled to be available by 2022, and the government's support policy for 30,000 smart factories is cruising, and the policy is also being advanced.
This study examines the impact of Ulsan Smart Factory Support Project carried out from 2019 to 2020 on corporate performance indicators. In this study, the results data of the results of the results survey of companies 6 months after the end of the project were analyzed as sample data by Kaisegop to analyze the impact of the smart factory support project on corporate performance indicators. The analysis results are as follows. As the performance index of the company's construction process and construction system is only SCM/PLM with p<0.05, it is highly likely that the range of items that companies can produce through the operation of the SCM/PLM program has expanded.
The results of a survey of companies that benefited from the smart factory support project were analyzed that the company's competitiveness, such as productivity increase, quality improvement, cost reduction, and delivery rate improvement, led to corporate growth. Therefore, the opposition hypothesis was adopted, rejecting the nullification theory that "there will be no relationship between the company's construction process and the performance index of the construction system."
Therefore, the core factors that affect the performance of a company that introduced a smart plant may vary depending on the process and system of construction, suggesting that the company's strategic value is given to the process of deciding and implementing a smart plant. The analysis results derived from this study can be used as sample data for each construction system by companies that want to build smart factories and can be provided as evaluation data for decision-making during implementation of system construction.
