간동맥화학색전술을 시행한 환자의 수면의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인

Abstract

Purpose The purpose of this study was to identify the affecting factors of sleeping quality in patients undergoing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE).

Methods Study population were two groups; 50 patients undergoing TACE and 45 nurses caring for them. Data were collected from September, 2022 to November, 2022 using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Spearman Rank Correlation, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 27.0 program.

Results The mean score of patient sleep fragmentation was 13.16±2.09, sleep length was 5.36±2.16, sleep depth was 4.70±2.80, sleep delay was 17.06±2.55. In the multiple regression analysis, the patient’s fever sensation (t=-2.077, p=.043), fatigue (t=-4.469, p<.001) explained 38.6% of the patient’s sleep fragmentation. The patient’s abdominal pain (t=-2.541, p=.014), vomiting (t=-2.211, p=.032), fatigue expected by the nurse (t=2.679, p=.014) explained 41.7% of the patient’s sleep length. The patient’s abdominal pain (t=-2.046, p=.046) explained 42.9% of the patient’s sleep depth.

Conclusion Factors affecting sleep quality in patients undergoing TACE were abdominal pain, vomiting, fever sensation, fatigue, fatigue expected by the nurses. Therefore, in order to improve patients sleep quality, a strategy to control these symptoms is needed. In particular, abdominal pain affects both the length and depth of sleep, it is necessary to prepare practical guidelines for abdominal pain management in TACE patients.
