Abstract

The primary purpose of this study is to examine the trends and actual conditions of seaweed farming as an example of laver aquaculture in Gaeya-do, Gunsan, and to analyze management performance. At the same time, the management status was diagnosed based on the aquaculture management survey and presented ways for better management, recognizing the livelihood-type fishery management in the laver aquaculture industry. This study presents a plan to reduce the management cost of laver aquaculture and the cause and response plan for laver's unit price drop. However, in the future, it was judged that the number of seaweed farming fishermen would gradually decrease due to environmental factors, difficulties in supplying human resources, difficulties in importing aquaculture, aging of fishermen, Etc. In addition, this study showed in a cross-sectional view that the future of the laver aquaculture industry, which is the basis of the laver industry, is at the forefront of Korean seafood exports, is virtually dark.
