日韓両言語における外来語の量的推移と使用実態に関する対照研究

Abstract

This thesis targeted newspaper editorials written in both Japanese and Korean for study, and a synchronic analysis was carried out by a sampling survey for the nine years following 2013. The findings from the sample with the total number of 5,379,282 (Japanese) and 8,744,398 (Korean) characters from 5,912 (Japanese) and 8,056 (Korean) editorials are given in each chapter. First of all, the estimated appearance rate of foreign words over the past nine years was ‘0.032% (Japanese): 0.015% (Korean)’. Quantitative trends in both languages have increased over the past nine years. Japanese increased 1.6 times and Korean increased 1.3 times. By year, the figure was the highest in fiscal 2020, a 1.4-fold increase in Japanese and 1.1-fold increase in Korean compared to the previous year's 2019. Next, analysis by word type showed a rapid increase in the number of hybrid words in both languages in 2020. A common feature is that words related to onlineization have been found in various fields. In the analysis results by part of speech, the ratio of "nouns" in both languages is the highest, and the number of different words and the total number of words is 90% or more. As an applied study of the above survey data, the results of this study were compared with the ‘foreign words handled in vocabulary materials’ of the competence test. As a result of the analysis, it was suggested that Japanese ‘16 words’ and Korean ‘9 words’ should be added to the advanced and advanced levels.
