A Study on the Utilization Status of Food Delivery Service in China
Abstract
With the emergence of COVID-19, China's food delivery service market has expanded on a larger scale than before. Ordering food through food delivery platforms has brought convenience to people. Consumer satisfaction has become an important part of food delivery services and has emerged as a key competitor in the delivery industry. However, it is necessary to find out the satisfaction level of restaurant owners, who are another main players using food delivery services.
This study analyzed the problems that exist in Meituan's delivery and self-delivery, the status delivery method of delivery services. Interviews and surveys were conducted on the owners of restaurants using Meituan's delivery. Currently, the reason for using Meituan's delivery and self-delivery was identified. The analysis obtained through descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, one-sample T test, and one-way variance analysis using the SPSS program shows that the current rate of Meituan delivery is significantly higher than that of its own delivery, and the fee is about 10% higher than that of its own delivery. In addition, it was tested that the use ratio of Meituan varies depending on the type of food.It was also tested that there was a difference in satisfaction with the two delivery methods.
In addition, based on the results of the empirical analysis, this study also suggested future development prospects and improvement plans for Chinese food delivery services.
