Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a scale of university student institutional commitment. The research questions to achieve the purpose of this study are as follows. First, what are the factors and question composition of university student institutional commitment? Second, what are the validity and reliability of the university student institutional commitment scale? The development and validation stages of the university student institutional commitment scale are as follows. The development of the university student institutional commitment scale was conducted through the stages of development plan, item development, pilot survey, and main survey. First, in the development plan stage, the purpose, target, and type of scale development were determined. Second, in the item development stage, prior studies at home and abroad were analyzed. In addition, three Delphi surveys were conducted on a group of university education experts. Third, the results of the Delphi survey were analyzed, preliminary questions were selected through a review process, and preliminary surveys were conducted on 103 college students in the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas. Fourth, the results of the pilot survey were analyzed and reflected to select the questions of main survey, and main survey was conducted on 536 college students in the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas. The distribution of item responses, item preference, and item discrimination were confirmed with the collected data and reduced to 20 items. The validation of the university student institutional commitment scale was as follows. First, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted based on data from 536 college students nationwide, and the institutional commitment scale for college students was identified as four constituent factors. Specifically, the constituent factors and items are educational satisfaction (9 questions), learning activities (4 questions), social interaction (5 questions), and college preference (2 questions). The fit of model of the university student institutional commitment scale was confirmed with the standard index, and the final scale could be used regardless of gender and department. Second, the correlation was analyzed between the university student institutional commitment and institutional commitment(ACS & CCS). Convergence validity was confirmed through average variance extraction(AVE), concept reliability(C.R.), standardized regression weights(SRW), and Critical Ratio(C.R) values, and discrimination validity was confirmed through the confidence interval of the average variance extraction, value, and correlation coefficient between sub-factors. Finally, the result of the reliability for the final 20 items is the overall .93, educational satisfaction .93, learning activities .81, social interaction .89, and college preference .82. The final scale in this study is composed of four factors: educational satisfaction, learning activities, social interaction and college preference. It was developed to evaluate the overall level of university student institutional commitment using the Likert scale with a total of 20 items. The higher the score of this scale, the higher the student institutional commitment. It was confirmed that the university student institutional commitment scale developed through this study is a reliable and valid scale that can measure the university student institutional commitment. Through this scale, it will be possible to confirm the construct factors and other intertwined factors of university student institutional commitment that affect institutional commitment. The institutional commitment scale contributes to be a diagnostic tool that students use to increase their institutional commitment, and provides fundamental data on university student institutional commitment.|본 연구는 대학생의 대학몰입을 측정할 수 있는 척도를 개발하고 타당화 하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 대학몰입 척도의 요인과 문항 구성은 어떠한가? 둘째, 개발된 대학생 대학몰입 척도의 타당도와 신뢰도는 어떠한가? 이다. 대학생 대학몰입 척도의 개발 단계와 타당화 검증 단계는 다음과 같다. 대학생 대학몰입 척도 개발 단계는 개발 계획, 문항 개발, 예비 조사, 본 조사 단계를 거쳐 이루어졌다. 첫째, 개발 계획 단계에서는 척도 개발의 목적, 검사 대상과 유형을 결정하였다. 둘째, 문항 개발 단계에서는 국내외 선행연구를 분석하여, 대학 교육 현장 전문가와 대학 교육에 관한 연구를 진행한 바 있는 국내 이론 전문가 집단을 대상으로 델파이 설문 조사를 세 차례 진행하였다. 셋째, 델파이 조사 결과를 분석하고 검토 과정을 거쳐 예비문항을 선정하고 수도권 및 비수도권 대학생 103명을 대상으로 예비 조사를 실시하였다. 넷째, 예비 조사 결과를 분석하고 이를 반영하여 본 조사 문항을 선정하고 수도권 및 비수도권 대학생 536명을 대상으로 본 조사를 실시하였다. 수집한 자료로 문항반응분포, 문항양호도, 문항변별도 등을 확인하여 최종적으로 20문항을 도출하였다. 대학생 대학몰입 척도 타당화 단계는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전국 대학생 536명의 자료를 바탕으로 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하여 대학생 대학몰입 척도는 네 개의 구성요인으로 확인되었다. 구체적으로, 구성요인과 문항 구성은 교육만족(9문항), 학습활동(4문항), 사회적 상호작용(5문항), 대학선호(2문항)이다. 대학생 대학몰입 척도의 모형 적합도는 양호한 수준을 보였으며, 개발된 척도는 성별과 계열에 관계없이 사용할 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 상관관계 분석을 통해 대학생 대학몰입과 대학 조직몰입의 공인타당도를 확인하였다. 평균분산추출(AVE)과 개념신뢰도(C.R.)를 통해 수렴타당도를 확인하고, 평균분산추출과 r값, 구성요인 간 상관계수의 신뢰구간을 통해 변별타당도를 확인하였다. 마지막으로, 최종 확정된 대학생 대학몰입 척도 문항의 내적합치도 계수는 전체 .93, 교육만족 .93, 학습활동 .81, 사회적 상호작용 .89, 대학선호는 .82로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발한 대학생 대학몰입 척도는 교육만족, 학습활동, 사회적 상호작용, 대학선호의 네 가지로 구성되었다. 척도는 전체 20문항으로 구성되었고, Likert 5점 척도를 사용하여 응답자의 전반적인 대학몰입 수준을 평가할 수 있도록 개발되었다. 본 척도의 점수는 높을수록 대학몰입이 높은 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 개발한 대학생 대학몰입 척도는 대학생의 대학몰입을 측정할 수 있는 신뢰성 있고 타당한 척도임을 확인하였다. 이 척도를 통해 대학생 대학몰입의 구성요인을 확인하고, 대학몰입에 영향을 미치는 다른 요인과의 관계를 파악하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 대학몰입 척도는 대학생들의 대학몰입을 높이는데 사용할 수 있는 검사 도구로써 향후 대학생 대학몰입도에 대한 기초자료를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.
