아동학대 피해자를 대상으로 한 REBT 상담사례연구

Abstract

The following research questions were set up to find out the irrational beliefs generated in the process of abuse of child abuse victims, how the irrational beliefs are currently manifested in maladaptive reactions, and how irrational beliefs change through REBT counseling.

1) What are the irrational beliefs held by women affected by child abuse and what kind of maladaptive reactions are they currently showing? 2) How does the irrational beliefs of victims of child abuse change before and after the REBT counseling?

This study adopted a case study method, one of the qualitative research methods. Changes were analyzed using Irrational Belief Tests, K-BAI-II, and K-BAI to view changes before and after counseling as objective indicators. The results of this study were as follows.

As a result of the Irrational Belief Test, 10 irrational beliefs were significantly changed before and after counseling. The most significantly decreased area was the problem avoidance area, and the smallest decreased area was perfect solutions before and after counseling. As a result of the K-BDI-II test, the study participants showed significant changes before and after counseling. And as a result of the K-BAI test, the study participants showed significant changes before and after counseling. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that the REBT counseling is effective to modify irrational beliefs into rational beliefs. It is meaningful to provide empirical data for REBT counseling by showing the process of changing irrational beliefs through one case.
