예술로 통하는 문신(文身)과

Abstract

다큐멘터리를 영상으로 제작하는 이유는 영상이 현실을 가장 사실적으로 전달할 수 있는 매체이면서 관객의 몰입을 유도하고 감정을 전달 하는데 효과적이기 때문 이다. 본 작품 ‘예술로 통하는 문신(文身)과 불화(佛畫)’는 작품 내용을 사실적으로 전달 하고, 영상의 몰입도를 높이기 위해 현장 촬영과 인터뷰, 사진 자료 그리고 SNS의 동영상 자료, 구글 이미지를 사용했다. 제작 방식은 주인공의 인터뷰를 골간으로 한다. 인터뷰 내용에 적합하도록 현장 촬 영 영상을 배열하고, 자료 사진은 포토샵을 이용해 작가의 원본 사진과 구글 이미지 를 재가공해서 사용했다. 작품의 주제는 사회적 통념상 문신(文身)과 불화(佛畫)라는 극단적인 작품세계를 모 두 경험한 주인공을 통해 문신(文身)에 대한 오해와 참회의 수단으로 불화(佛畫)를 그리는 과정에서 ‘문신’과‘불화’ 모두 하나의 예술로서 통할 수 있음을 알게 되었다. 즉, 불교에서 말하는 본질실상(本質實相), 사물을 편견 없이 있는 그대로 참모습을 보는 것의 중요함을 깨닫고, 그것을 통해 얻은 마음의 평정심을 표현했다.|The reason for using visual media to produce a documentary is that it is the media that can most realistically describe reality. At the same time, it is an effective way to convey emotions and immerse the audience. In my work, , on-site filming, interviews, photos, clips from SNS and images from Google are used to portray the content realistically and make it more immersive. The production method is based on the interview of the main character. The documentary images are arranged to be in accord with results of interview. The original photos of the artist's tattoos and images from Google are edited and reprocessed in Photoshop to be used as photographic material. The theme of the work is the importance of seeing things as they are, without prejudice, and how this can bring us inner peace. It is revealed through the main character, who has an experience of both tattooing and Buddhist painting, which are at opposite ends of social convention. The way in which he realises that tattoos and Buddhist painting can be in the same line, while depicting Buddhist painting as a means of repentance derived from the misunderstanding of a tattoo, gives the audience a chance to reflect on the theme of this film.
