- Abstract
- This study seeks ways to educate multicultural art with the aim of having an attitude to understand and respect diverse cultures through art subjects and the necessity of multicultural education for the convergence of diverse cultures in Korea's multicultural society where diversity is increasing as a global society. First, through the theoretical background, the multiculturalism, multicultural education, Background and Concept of Multicultural Art Education, purpose and necessity were investigated. Next, a multicultural art education plan was sought based on the contents examined from the theoretical background, the contents emphasized by multicultural education scholars, and examples of multicultural education abroad. Through this, it was possible to confirm the necessity of establishing a self-cultural identity for multicultural acceptance, and this study suggested a multicultural art education plan through the establishment of a self-cultural identity. The method of instruction is multicultural art education using the national flag of each country. Learning about culture is necessary to establish self-cultural identity and multicultural acceptance. Since a country's 'national flag' is a medium that symbolizes its history and culture, it is possible to learn about various cultures through the 'national flag' of each country. Establish a self-cultural identity through cultural learning through the national flag of one's own country in the study paper. After that, through group learning, learning about other cultures takes place through communication with friends. Through this, students can cultivate a positive understanding and respect for other cultures without losing their self-identity with their culture. First of all, for the results, a survey on students' multicultural perceptions and prior workbook activities were conducted before class. And the researcher compared and analyzed the learning results and the survey results after class. The questionnaire targets Korean students who participated in the class, and the effectiveness of the class was analyzed as a measure of increase or decrease through the same questionnaire before and after class. Multicultural students confirmed the effectiveness of class through interview. The researcher deduced three conclusions through this study. First, multicultural education with multicultural and Korean students has a positive effect on the perception of multiculturalism. Second, multicultural education using art subjects that are closer to the meaning of 'activity' than the meaning of 'learning' enables students to accept multiculturalism naturally. Third, the effect of self-cultural pre-learning to establish self-cultural identity has a more positive effect on multicultural students than on Korean students. It was confirmed that the number of multicultural students in Korean society will continue to increase. Therefore, through this study, we expect the development of multicultural convergence education and multicultural art education for general and multicultural students for a positive convergence of a multicultural society.
