Abstract

This study aims to contribute to the effective operation of the gillnet fishing gear deposit system and the design of its pilot program by developing an AHP-based multi-criteria value function evaluation model that integrates expert opinions, stakeholder perspectives, and field experiment results. The model was applied to identify the optimal marking type, while mixed weighting analysis was used to determine the appropriate marking unit. The analysis showed that among the fiber label types, the ultrasonic welding method was the most suitable marking type. As for the marking unit, the "per panel" unit based on the number of net panels was found to be the most appropriate, and a supplementary unit based on the "weight per panel" was also proposed. The proposed direct marking method and evaluation model reflect the operational characteristics of gillnet and incorporate multiple evaluation factors. They are expected to serve as foundational resources for establishing effective marking method and advancing the gillnet fishing gear deposit system.
