다문화가정 어머니의 문화적응스트레스가 양육효능감에 미치는 영향: 심리적 안녕감의 매개효과

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of psychological well-being on the relationship between acculturative stress and parenting efficacy among mothers in multicultural families. Participants were mothers in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do raising children aged 3–12. First, acculturative stress was measured using the Acculturative Stress Scale for International Students (ASSIS) by Sandhu & Asrabadi (1994), modified by Kwon, Myung-Hee (2011). Second, psychological well-being was assessed with Ryff’s Psychological Well-being Scale (1989), adapted by Kim et al. (2001). Third, parenting efficacy was measured using Meunier & Roskam’s (2009) scale, validated by Sung, Jihyun & Baek, Ji-Hee (2011), and later revised by Yeon, Hye-Min (2015). The findings of this study are summarized as follows. First, the study analyzed the correlations among acculturative stress, psychological well-being, and parenting efficacy in mothers of multicultural families, revealing significant relationships. Specifically, higher acculturative stress correlated with lower psychological well-being. Also, psychological well-being and parenting efficacy showed a positive correlation—mothers with greater well-being exhibited stronger parenting efficacy and more positive attitudes. Second, while acculturative stress did not directly impact parenting efficacy, psychological well-being served as a mediator. Higher acculturative stress led to lower psychological well-being, which in turn influenced parenting efficacy The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of psychological well-being on the relationship between acculturative stress and parenting efficacy in mothers of multicultural families, and to analyze whether psychological well-being plays an important role in alleviating acculturative stress and promoting parenting efficacy in mothers of multicultural families. Therefore, it is expected that multifaceted support for mothers in multicultural families to strengthen their psychological well-being will have a positive effect on their parenting efficacy.
