A Study on the Partially Premixed Combustion Characteristics of Bunsen Burner in Gas Kiln
Abstract
This study was experimentally and numerically performed to get the flame structure and exhaust gas characteristics of bunsen burner using the gas kiln. At first, changing fuel flow rate(4, 5 and 6 l/min) and induced air rate, the flame stability rages were found by direct photography of flame. And concentrations of various chemical species and mean temperature were measured when the induced air controling plate was located at L=1.25mm, 2.5mm, 5mm and 10mm. Also numerical analysis for the flow of combustor have been conducted under the 4 kind of controling plate position condition.
As a Result of photographing, almost of conditions at fuel flow rate 3 l/min could not be burnt on account of instability of flame, and flame of 4 l/min couldn't stabilize. Considering the flame stability, all of the conditions at the fuel flow rate 5 and 6 l/min were most excellent regardless of induced air rate.
And at the fuel flow rate 5 l/min, temperature of flame increasing with increasing moved distance of induced air controling plate. the CO and HC concentration distributions were best at condition of L=10 mm.
The result of numerical calculation showed that changing position of controling plate affects strongly to induced air rate. In compare with the result of experiments, the current numerical calculation method well predicted velocity distribution of bunsen burner.
