부산 주변 해역에서 채집된 살오징어(Todarodespacificus)의 식성

Abstract

본 연구는 부산 주변 해역에 풍부하게 서식하고 있는 살오징어의 위내용물 분석을 통하여 주 먹이생물, 성장에 따른 먹이생물 조성의 변화, 계절에 따른 먹이생물 조성의 변화, 섭이율 등을 조사하였다. 살오징어의 시료는 부산 주변 해역에서 2004년 9월부터 2005년 8월까지 매월 1회 채집하였다. 채집된 시료는 현장에서 10% 중성포르말린에 보관하여 실험실로 운반하였다. 실험실에서 각 개체의 외투장 (0.1 cm)과 체중 (0.1 g)을 측정하였으며, 위 부분을 분리한 뒤 위 무게 (0.1 g)를 측정하고, 위내용물을 분석하였다. 위내용물 중 출현하는 먹이생물은 Takeda (1982), Cha et al. (2001), Yoon (2002) 등을 이용하여 동정하였다. 위내용물의 분석 결과는 각 먹이생물에 대한 출현빈도(frequency of occurrence), 먹이생물의 개체수비 및 건조중량비로 나타내었다. 채집된 살오징어의 위내용물중량지수(Stomach Contents Index, SCI)를 구하였다. 이 연구에 사용된 살오징어의 개체수는 총 1368개체였으며, 이들의 외투장은 8～31 cm 크기의 범위를 보였다. 살오징어의 공복율은 43.8%를 차지하였으며, 먹이를 섭이한 799개체의 위내용물을 분석한 결과, 살오징어의 먹이생물은 어류 (pisces), 연체동물 (mollusca), 갑각류 (crustaceans)였다. 그 외에 난 (egg) 등이 위내용물 중 발견 되었으나 그 양은 많지 않았다. 연체동물에서는 두족류 (Cephalopoda)와 이매패류 (Bivalvia)가 발견되었으며, 갑각류에서는 단각류 (Amphipoda), 새우류 (Caridea), 게류 (Brachyura), 갯가재류 (Stomatopoda)등이 발견되었다. 살오징어의 주요먹이생물은 어류이며, 위내용물중량지수(SCI, %)는 성장함에따라 증가했다. 봄과 여름에는 연체동물이 주요먹이생물이었으나, 가을과 겨울에는 어류로 대체되었다.

Stomach content analysis for common squid was carried out to investigate the difference in seasonal and ontogenetic feeding behavior. Totals of 1368 common squid were collected monthly off Busan from September 2004 to August,2005. Size range of common squid was 8.5-31.8 cm mantle length (ML)during the study period. Ofthe 1368 stomachs examined,599 specimens (43.8%) were empty. Stomach contents indicated that common squid was carnivore:Large portion of stomach contents consisted of fish and mollusca (mainly common squid). The stomach contents index (SCI)seemed to increase with size,though there was no statistical difference between size classes significantly. Cannibalism was minimum in size range of 15-20 cm ML,but was steadily increased with size. Cephalopods were the major prey during spring and summer when common squid were small, butfish replaced it during autumn and winter when they became large.
