Optimum Design of Caisson Structures Based on the Characteristic Database of Existing Constructions
Abstract
Caisson structures are commonly used in the coastal and harbor construction such as upright part of composite breakwaters, seawalls, coast levees and quay walls.
A number of caisson types have been applied for the various purpose of construction.
In this study, firstly, a database of existing caissons is established using the MS-Access and their characteristics are classified according to the construction environments, control purposes, external conditions.
Then, optimum structural type of caisson can be systematically determined in a new project based on the characteristics of construction site.
The optimum design process propose to used SQL(Structured Query Language).
When it inputs design conditions, there is getting an optimum structural type of caisson.
