Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of J. J. Rousseau's Naturalistic educational thoughts on the curriculum of physical education (the purpose and contents of the education) and education method through his books and thesis. The following are summed up the significance of his educational thought on physical education.
1. The Purpose of Education
Rousseau's educational thoughts have influenced on the purpose of education today that a harmony of body and mind, a health-related body and a contributive to the democracy in human being.
In the first, It emphasized the distinction on the harmony of body and mind that is made of the mind activity according to the physical activities.
In the second, It emphasized the necessity of the body development that health-related body was one of the very important factor and the foundation of the will and knowledge to develop.
In the third, It emphasized that the purpose of physical education have to make the moralist who has a sportsmanship.
2. The Contents of Education
Rousseau's Naturalistic education has influenced to organize the moderate educational curriculum in a experience education, a growth-development and a knowledge level.
In the first, It is emphasized the acquisition of desirable idea that the knowledge is acquired by the material experience according to the position of sense in the recognition.
In the second, It is emphasized that human can bring about the potentiality to compose a moderate environment and individual development level.
3. The Method of Education
Rousseau's Naturalistic education is very important to the method of education today that is composed of the induction of a voluntary participation in learners, the intention of a voluntary research activity, and a lot of the experiences and plays.
In the first, The point of Rousseau's a passive education theory is lead to typical education the voluntary attendance that is not the outside stimulus but is based on children's original nature.
In the second, It's emphasized the study of discovery that is using a voluntary activity by a beneficial knowledge.
In the third, According to Rousseau, the material experience can be related between children and material, and children develop the motor sense ability using the sense organs with the material. Also It is emphasized that the education of children consists of a play in any forms of the physical activities
