반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동이 유아의 편견감소에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구에서는 외모, 장애, 계층, 가족구성, 인종에 관한 유아들의 편견에 대하여 알아보고, 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동이 유아의 편견 감소에 미치는 영향을 검증하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 1. 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동에 참여한 집단과 참여하지 않는 유아들의 외모에 대한 편견에 차이가 있는가? 2. 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동에 참여한 집단과 참여하지 않는 유아들의 장애에 대한 편견에 차이가 있는가? 3. 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동에 참여한 집단과 참여하지 않는 유아들의 외모에 대한 편견에 차이가 있는가? 4. 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동에 참여한 집단과 참여하지 않는 유아들의 장애에 대한 편견에 차이가 있는가? 5. 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동에 참여한 집단과 참여하지 않는 유아들의 외모에 대한 편견에 차이가 있는가? 이와 같은 연구문제를 해결하기 위하여 부산광역시 안락동에 소재한 B유치원의 4세 유아 30명, 5세 유아 60명과 K유치원의 4세 유아 30명을 대상으로 하였다. 각각 30명씩 실험집단과 통제집단을 편성하였다. 본 연구에서는 유아들의 편견 양성을 알아보기 위해 류성희(2003)의 '문학을 활용한 반편견 교육활동이 유아의 반편견적 인식에 미치는 영향'에서 사용된 질문지 일부를 수정, 보완하여 외모, 장애, 계층, 가족구성, 인종의 5가지 편견 영역을 포함시킨 면접지와 그림카드를 활용하였으며, 이 5가지 편견 항목의 반편견 동화를 각각 2편 선정하여 사용하였다. 편견 검사는 유아들의 생각을 표현하도록 하였으며, 이 과정에서 유아들이 편견적인 이유를 언급했을 경우 편견이 있는 것으로 간주하여 편견 여부를 기록하였다. 본 연구의 실험은 2006년 10월 9일～12월 15일까지 10주에 걸쳐 10회 실시되었고 교육활동은 실험집단 유아는 반편견 동화를 활용한 동극활동 프로그램을 적용하였고, 통제집단 유아는 현재 유치원 6차 교육과정 생활주제의 일반적인 프로그램을 적용하였다. 사전·사후검사는 동일하게 이루어졌으며, 수집된 자료를 통계적으로 분석하기 위하여 SPSS 10.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였고, 사전·사후검사 차이를 검증하기 위해 t-검증을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 통계적 검증을 통하여 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 유아들은 외모, 장애, 계층, 가족구성, 인종에 대해 편견을 가지고 있으며 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동 후 본 연구에서 제시한 유아들의 5가지 편견 영역의 편견이 4세, 5세 모두 감소하였고, 집단과 연령에 따른 차이가 있는지 살펴본 결과 집단은 유의미한 차이가 있었으나 연령에 따른 차이와 집단과 연령의 상호작용 효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 반편견 동화를 통한 동극활동은 외모, 장애, 계층, 가족구성, 인종에 대한 유아의 편견감소에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of the study was to examine the bias of early children about appearance, troubles, classes, family compositionand human races and to verify an effect of children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias on the prejudice reduction of early children. The study set up the following problems to achieve this purpose. 1. Are there differences in the bias on appearance of an early children group which participates in children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias and an early children group which doesn't participate in them? 2. Are there differences in the bias on troubles of an early children group which participates in children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias and an early children group which doesn't participate in them? 3. Are there differences in the bias on classesof an early children group which participates in children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias and an early children group which doesn't participate in them? 4. Are there differences in the bias on family compositionof an early children group which participates in children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias and an early children group which doesn't participate in them? 5. Are there differences in the bias on human races of an early children group which participates in children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias and an early children group which doesn't participate in them? The study organized an experimental group and a control group by each 30 early children with 30 early children who were four years old, 60 early children who were five years old at B kindergartenand 30 early children who were four years old at kindergarten located in Anrak-dong, Busan to solve the problems like this. The study utilizedinterview papers and picture cards including five scopes of appearance, troubles, classes, family composition and human races by amending and supplementing parts of a questionnaire used in An effect of education activities for anti-bias literature on anti-bias recognition of early children by Ryu, Seong Hee (2003) to examine the bias cultivation of early children and used by selecting a children's story for anti-bias of five items of bias by each two books. The study made early children express their thought to inspect their bias and recorded whether or not bias by regarding early children who mentioned the reason of bias as ones with bias in this course. The study enforced 10 times of experiments for 10 weeks from October 9, 2006 to December 15, 2006. In the educational activities, the study applied children a drama activity program with a children's story for anti-bias to the experimental group and a general program of the living subject of the 6th educational course for kindergartens to the control group. The study enforced the same pre/post-inspection, analyzed with the SPSS 10.0 program to analyze the collected data statistically and used the T-verification to verify the difference between pre-inspection and post-inspection. The result appeared by the statistic verification of the study was as follows. The early children had prejudice on appearance, troubles, classes, family composition and human races, and after children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias, the prejudice of all early children who were four years old and five years old increased in the scopes of the five bias of early children proposed in the study. Also, when the study examined the difference followed by group and age, the group had a significant difference, but there is no difference followed by age and also no effect of interaction of group and age. As the result, it was known that the children drama activities through a children's story for anti-bias had an affirmative effect on the prejudice reduction of early children in appearance, troubles, classes, family composition and human races.
