신문을 활용한 일본어 교육

Abstract

본 연구는 현행 교과서가 가지는 문제점을 보완하고, 중등교육 일본어 교과의 목표인 의사소통을 할 수 있는 기초적인 능력의 배양과 일본인의 일상 언어생활과 문화에 대한 관심과 이해를 깊게 하는 방안의 일환으로 신문의 부교재로서의 활용을 제안하였다. 교과서는 다양한 학습자의 요구와 시대적 흐름을 반영하지 못하고, 의사소통 능력의 향상과 문화 습득을 위한 학습을 충족시키기에 역부족이라는 점을 들어 이를 보완할 수 있는 부교재 개발의 필요성을 강조하였다. 부교재로서 ‘신문’은 자료의 출처가 명확하여 정보를 신뢰할 수 있으며, 매일 발행되므로 시의적절한 일본 사정을 소개하고 학습하는 유용한 수단이 될 수 있다. 또 신문이 가지는 다양한 구성요소를 목표에 맞게 가공하면 학습자의 흥미 유발은 물론, 커뮤니케이션 환경을 조성하는 데에도 효과적이다. 따라서, 본고에서는 제7차 교육과정 일본어과에서 강조하고 있는 의사소통기능의 향상과 문화 지도를 중심으로 신문을 부교재로 활용하는 방안을 제시하였다. 교수·학습 방안을 제시함에 있어서는 신문을 구성요소별로 분류하여 활용하였다. 학교에서 이루어지는 제2외국어 교육의 학습자 수준이 그다지 높지 못한 점을 감안하여 시각적 요소를 중심으로 활용하였으며, 학습활동은 현행 교육과정에서 선호하는 의사소통 중심의 교실활동과 연계시켜 언어 기능의 총체적 활용을 목표로 하였다. 이는 학습자가 어휘나 문법에 구속받지 않고 장면과 문맥을 통한 커뮤니케이션을 가능하게 하기 위한 것으로, 그 과정에서 자연스럽게 언어행동과 문화를 습득할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 신문을 가공하여 교육적 수단으로 활용하면 신문이 갖는 일방적 정보 제공의 성격을 보완하고, 신문매체와 학습자, 학습자와 학습자, 학습자와 교수자 간의 상호적 커뮤니케이션을 가능하게 하여, 다양한 의사소통 환경을 제공받을 수 있다. 그러나, 신문 활용 교육에 아무리 구체적인 방법론이 존재한다 하여도, 다양한 학습자의 요구와 시대적 흐름에 부응하기 위해서는 수시로 자료를 수집하고 학습목표에 맞게 가공하는 교사의 노력이 불가피하다. 또한, 신문이 갖는 이미지가 이미 학습자에게 진부한 정보 매체라는 점에서 어느 정도의 동기유발이 가능할 것인가 하는 점을 한계로 지적할 수 있다. 이것은 교육현장에서 신문을 부교재로 활용한 수업을 통해 동기 유발과 교육적 효과를 검증해야 할 것으로 생각되는 바, 본 연구가 앞으로 이루어야 할 향후과제이기도 하다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a method for Japanese newspaper's practical use an auxiliary textbook in the middle and high school in the seventh revision of education curriculum. Newspapers are useful media of information reflecting social situations and phases of the times which are difficult to cover in any data and providing various up-to-date information. In addition to, teachers can find interesting plans to cultivate student's abilities - that is, speaking, listening, reading and writing - to use a language through newspapers. In oder to improve such abilities, preparing guidelines connected with Newspapers In Education(NIE) has a great educational effect in the aspects of the value and the purpose. If a Japanese teachers suggests a proper method of learning Japanese with newspaper data selected carefully, the learners can not only improve linguistic abilities, but also cultivate voluntary and inquisitive learning attitudes and futhermore, they can develop naturally the abilities to understand and accept Japanese society, culture and people. In chapter 2, educational value of newspapers and basic requirements fot the methods were reviewed for theoretical establishment of this study. In chapter 3, plans to use newspapers, available of actual application to Japanese education were suggested. Newspapers were divided into seven items such as news, cartoons, advertisements and otheres. If teachers select interesting material considering their student's levels, it will have a dramatic effects. In addition to the information about cultural and current events, there are many useful things like the weather forecast, TV programs, pictures and cartoons in the newspaper. It is easy to get various newspapers due to the internet, therefore learners will have golden opportunity to understand diverse cultures and express theirs in Japanese. For the reason, this study proposes the various methods for practical uses of a Japanese newspaper and internet sites. Although this is an insufficient plan to apply Japanese newspapers in many respects, it is expected that Japanese teachers who have taught really Japanese in the first line will solve the poor part and limits of this study through actual applications.
