- Abstract
- This study has its purpose in the development of the pre-writing strategy among strategies focused on the process and in contribution for the students to enjoy the pleasures of the novel creation in ways of seeking the detailed teaching process of the novel creation and applying that process to the practical class.
In an introduction, this study presents the application of the pre-writing strategy to induce the active and intriguing participation of the student in order to emphasize the necessity of the novel creating education and to enhance learning of the student.
In chapter 2, we observe the status quo of the novel creating education as the theoretical background for this study.
First of all, we examine the status quo of the novel creating education in 7th educational curriculum, and investigated whether the novel creating education presented in the 7th educational curriculum is successfully implemented in classes of the middle school in a manner of the questionnaire survey.
Also, we investigated the process-focused writing strategy.
In chapter 3, we frame a draft of the pre-writing strategy that fits to the level of the student in an reference of the previous questionnaire, and apply the draft to the practical class.
The teaching and learning method of the novel creating is framed in center of the pre-writing strategy. We classify the expected effect of novel creating guidance in aspects of the teacher and the student.
Effects expected to be achieved by the teacher, are like followings:
First, the role of the teacher is converted into the active key actor, who develops the material to teach, guide, achieve and help the writing process of the student.
Second, the teacher figures the information of the student more concretely, and finally leads the lesson, considering the individual level of the student.
Third, the teacher attempts the process focused evaluation, not focused on the result, as methods of the performance test.
Effects expected to be achieved by the student, are like followings:
First, the students are to enjoy the writing confidently, while leaning with the application of the visual writing strategy.
Second, the students are to search for the flux of the entire story that he or she may write by experiencing the novel creating process in an application of series of pre-writing strategy. This exploration will be helpful for the students in a process of writing the draft.
Third, the students are to cooperate with other students and lead the learning by themselves in the learning of the pre-writing strategy.
Forth, students' appreciation and understanding on the novel will be broaden and deepen by the application of the pre-writing strategy.
In this study, we seek the methodology of teaching to develop the strategy considering the characteristic in genre of the novel to the level or interest of the student in order to activate the creating education, which will make the new horizon of literature education in the 7th educational curriculum.
