아동의 창의적 디자인 표현에 있어 음악 감상이 미치는 영향

Abstract

자원은 부족하나 인력이 풍부한 우리나라가 21세기의 세계화로 인한 국가 경쟁력 강화와 국가 발전을 이룩하기 위해서는 창의력이 풍부한 인력이 필요하며, 이를 위해서는 창의성 개발을 위한 교육이 절대적으로 필요하다. 본 연구는 음악 감상이 아동의 창의적 디자인 표현에 미치는 영향을 알아봄으로써, 아동교육현장에서 음악 감상을 통한 디자인 표현 활동을 활성화 하고, 나아가 창의적인 디자이너 양성 교육에 기여함을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구의 대상은 부산광역시에 소재한 A, B, C, D 미술학원 8~9세 아동 12O명으로 실험집단(A, B, 60명)과 통제집단(C, D, 60명)으로 나누었다. 실험집단은 음악 감상을 수업에 접목시키고, 통제집단은 음악 없이 주제만 부여한 디자인 표현 수업을 실시하였다. 연구는 사전검사, 실험 처지, 사후검사 순으로 진행되었으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악 감상을 통한 디자인 표현 활동을 경험한 아동은 그렇지 않은 아동들보다 창의성의 하위요소인 유창성, 융통성, 독창성, 정교성 모두가 향상되었으며 창의성 총점에 있어서도 의미 있는 결과를 나타내었다. 즉, 음악 감상을 통한 디자인 표현 활동이 아동의 창의성을 증진시키는데 매우 효과적이었다는 것이 검증되었다. 둘째, 음악을 들으면 자연스럽게 춤을 추는 현상처럼 청각을 통한 자극은 아동의 머릿속에서 이미지를 형상화하고 그 형상이 디자인으로 자연스럽게 표현되었음을 알 수 있다. 즉, 음악 감상으로 인해 아동의 동기 유발, 집중력, 적극성, 흥미도의 질적 수준도 크게 향상되었음이 검증되었다. 이렇듯 음악 감상이 아동의 창의적 디자인 표현에 미치는 영향은 매우 크다는 것이 검증되었다. 따라서 아동들의 창의적인 표현이 보다 다양한 방법으로 표출 될 수 있는 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이며, 그 중의 하나로 음악 감상 프로그램을 활성화 하는 방안이 모색되어져야 할 것이다. 또한 교사는 창의적인 표현의 밑거름이 될 수 있는 많은 직·간접적인 경험을 쌓을 수 있도록 교육하며, 아동들을 격려해주어야 할 것이다. 창조적인 디자이너를 육성하고 나아가 온 세계를 대표하는 창조적 대한민국 국민으로서의 역량을 과시하기 위한 첫 걸음으로, 음악 감상을 디자인 교육에 접목시키고, 그것을 널리 알려야 함을 다시 한 번 강조한다.

Korea lacks natural resources, but has plentiful of manpower. In order for Korea to strengthen its competitive power and achieve national development in this globalized 21st century, it's necessary to have creative manpower. This is why it is essential to have an education to develop creativity. The goal of this study is to look at how listening to music affects creative design expression of a child. The purpose is to revitalize design expression activities by listening to music in child education centers. This will contribute in bringing up creative designers in the future. The subjects of this study were 120 children aged between 8~9 years old who live in Busan, and go to one of A, B, C, or D art schools. The subjects were divided into two experimental groups (A, B, 60 children) and two control groups (C, D, 60 children). Children in experimental group listened to music during the class, while the control group only focused on the art theme without any music. The study started with preliminary examination, followed by experimental condition, and post-examination. The results were as follow. First, children who experienced design expression activities while listening to music, compared to the children who didn't listen to any music, improved more in all fluency, adaptability, originality, and delicacy, which are all subcomponents of creativity. They also shows meaningful results in the final scores for creativity. This has proven that design expression activity through listening to music is very effective in improving a child's creativity. Second, like dancing naturally while listening to music, stimulus through the ears shapes up an image in the child's mind, and that image can be naturally expressed through the design. This proves that listening to music greatly improves the quality of the child's motivation, concentration, activity, and interests. It's been proven that listening to music greatly affects the child's creative design expression. Therefore, programs need to be developed so the children can express their creative expressions in various ways. One way would be to revitalize a music program. Also, teachers must educate the children in a way that the children can gain both direct and indirect experience which will serve as basis for their creative expressions. The children also need to be encouraged. As the first step to bring up creative designers and show the ability of creative Koreans to the world, music listening should be integrated into design education, and this should be spread all over the country.
